Completing a Wi-Fi Swap for a Wondrwall Light Switch
Switch your Wondrwall Light Switch to a new Wi-Fi network in just a few simple steps
Introduction
Your Wondrwall Light Switch connects to your home Wi-Fi, allowing you to use features like heating, lighting, and security automation from the Wondrwall App. If your Wi-Fi network changes, after upgrading your router or switching internet provider, you’ll need to update the Light Switch with your new network details.
This guide shows you how to update your Wi-Fi using the Wondrwall App.
When you need to Complete a Wi-Fi swap
You should complete a Wi-Fi swap if:
-
You’ve installed a new router or changed your Wi-Fi provider
-
You’ve updated your Wi-Fi name (SSID) or password.
-
Your Light Switch is not responding and may be trying to connect to an old network
How Do I know that a Light Switch is Offline?
You can tell if your Wondrwall Light Switch is Offline from:
1. the Wondrwall App
-
On the home screen, an offline device will appear greyed out.
-
While offline, the device cannot perform any intelligent functions until it is reconnected.
-
If you tap the icon for an offline Light Switch, the status bar at the top of the device page will display “Offline.”
2. The Light Switch Itself
- Your Wondrwall Light Switch has six LEDs in a horizontal line that can glow, flash, or remain off to indicate different states.
- If the Light Switch is offline:
- LEDs 3, 4, and 6 will be on
- LED 2 will be flashing
- Each LED pattern represents a specific status or error. You can learn more about all possible LED patterns and their meanings by following this link (Error Code Guide)
Warning: If your Light Switch loses its connection, it will appear as Offline in the app and won’t be able to perform any intelligent functions until reconnected.

FAQs
Q: Do I need to do this for every Light Switch in my home?
A No, completing the Wi-Fi swap on just one Light Switch will automatically apply the change to all others in the same home. You’ll only need to repeat this process manually if other switches don’t update correctly.
Q: Why do I need to enable location services?
A: Location services are required by your phone’s operating system to complete secure device connections. If this isn’t enabled, the Wondrwall App won’t be able to detect or configure your Light Switch during the process.
Q: What happens if I enter the Wi-Fi password incorrectly?
A: The process will fail. Wi-Fi passwords are case sensitive, so make sure you enter it exactly as shown, including any capital letters or special characters (special characters such as ''&' are not accepted).
Q: I can't see the Wondrwall-XXXX network when I go into my settings. What should I do?
A: Double-check that:
-
You held the function button for at least 20 seconds
-
The 4 lights on the switch are blinking
-
You’re close enough to the switch (within a few metres)
If the Wondrwall network still doesn’t appear, try pressing the function button again for the required period.
Q: My switch still shows as ‘Offline’ after the Wi-Fi swap, is it working?
A: Sometimes it can take a minute or two for the switch to update in the app. If it still appears offline after 5 minutes, check:
-
That you reconnected your phone to your home Wi-Fi at the end
-
The Light Switch Information Page shows the correct network.
If not, repeat the Wi-Fi swap steps to try again.
Q: Is this process the same for all Wondrwall Light Switches?
A: Yes, this guide works for all Light Switches connected to your Wondrwall system, regardless of the room or device role.
