Understanding LED Patterns on Your Wondrwall Light Switch

How to interpret LED signals on your Wondrwall Light Switch and resolve common issues quickly.

Introduction

Wondrwall Light Switches use a row of six horizontal LEDs beneath the switch surface as diagnostic indicators. These LEDs are normally invisible but will light up during startup, software updates, or if there’s a connectivity or system issue. Understanding each pattern helps you pinpoint the switch’s status and next steps.

What Each LED Means

The LEDs are labelled from left to right (1–6).

LED When Solid (On) When Flashing
1 (far left) Boot first stage running Boot failed
2 Not connected to Wi-Fi Attempting/failed Wi-Fi join
3 Boot (2nd stage)/Not started Not commissioned/not paired
4 Booting Not commissioned/not paired
5 Booting No internet connection
6 (far right) Booting Booting into recovery mode

Tip: If all six LEDs are swirling from left to right, the switch is performing a firmware update. Allow it to complete before use.

Normal Boot Sequences

For a Paired (Commissioned) Switch

  1. Initial Boot: All six LEDs are on.

  2. Second Phase: LEDs 2–6 remain on.

  3. Wi-Fi Connected: LEDs 3–6 are on.

  4. Boot Complete: All LEDs are off.

For an Unpaired (Uncommissioned) Switch

  1. Initial Boot: All six LEDs are on.

  2. Second Phase: LEDs 2–6 remain on.

  3. Ready for Commission: LED 2 is solid and LED 4 is flashing; others are off.

Common Error Patterns & Solutions
