This guide will show you how to change the security settings on your device using behaviour options which can be customised for different scenes.
In a Wondrwall-enabled home, an integrated security system is designed to protect against potential threats using motion sensors installed in every light switch. Homeowners can enjoy enhanced security and peace of mind knowing that their property is effectively safeguarded.
Light Switch Behaviour Settings
To edit how a light switch behaves, open the Light Switch Behaviour settings. Here, you can ‘enable’ and ‘disable’ security options for each scene/mode, using the respective toggles.
The three button indicators at the top mean chosen lights can turn ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ when you switch scenes/modes. This is useful for outdoor lighting or turning on an entrance/hallway light when you deactivate the security and move to ‘Home’.
Security Features
- Random Light Switching: When enabled, this will turn the lights ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’ during the night, to simulate occupancy.
- Silent Panic: When a panic is initiated, the device will only turn on its light and will not make a noise.
- Detect Motion: This is the toggle for the motion sensor on the light switch.
- Detect Fire Alarm: The light switch is listening for the fire alarm.
- Detect Glass Breakage: The light switch is listening for broken glass.
You can enable motion detection on the ‘Sleep’ scene for security during the night, or disable motion detection for the ‘Away’ scene if you have a room where pets are kept whilst you are away.
Alarm Triggers
If an alarm is triggered, the Light Switch that has detected motion will send an alert to the other devices in the home, including the siren if one is paired. When in panic mode, the light switch will turn on and emit a noise. Then all members will receive a notification:
- Stop the Panic: This will silence the alarm, but leave the system armed, so if more motion is detected, the alarm will sound again.
- Stop and Disarm: This will fully disarm the system.
The home can then be moved back to ‘Home’.
Troubleshooting
If your siren isn’t sounding when the light switches have detected motion, check the following:
- Make sure the device is paired.
- Check the siren is armed in the security widget.
- Check the device is turned on.
- Replace the batteries (2x D battery).
