Troubleshooting Wondrwall Light Switches Going Offline.

If your Wondrwall Light Switch is showing as “offline” in the app, don’t worry—we’ll walk you through the steps to get it back online. Follow these instructions to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Symptoms of an Offline Light Switch

  • The light switch appears greyed out in the Wondrwall app.
  • The status reads “offline.”
  • On the face of the light switch, you’ll notice a singular flashing LED.
    • LED 2 Flashing: Indicates that the light switch cannot find the Wi-Fi router.
    • LED 5 Flashing: Suggests that the device has disconnected from the internet but may still be connected to the router.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

  1. Check Your Internet and Wi-Fi Router:

    • Verify that other devices in your home are also disconnected. If everything is offline, there might be changes to your local network (e.g., SSID, password) or an internet outage. Contact your internet service provider if needed.
  2. Update Wi-Fi Information on All Light Switches:

    • Open the Wondrwall app.
    • Select an offline light switch from your list of devices.
    • On the device page, tap the information icon (usually located in the top right corner).
    • Look for the “Network” option (usually the third one down) with an arrow on the right side. Tap it.
    • You’ll see details about the Wi-Fi network the device is connected to.
    • Press “Change Wi-Fi Settings” to update the Wi-Fi details on the device.
    • Repeat this process for all light switches until they are back online.
  3. Soft Reset (If Needed):

    • If your Wi-Fi is working fine but one or more devices remain offline, try a soft reset:
      • Locate Your Fuse Board: Head to your fuse board or electrical panel. You’ll find a set of circuit breaker switches there.

      • Identify the “Lighting” Circuit Breakers: Look for the circuit breakers specifically labeled as “lighting.” There may be more than one, especially if you have multiple light switches connected to different circuits.

      • Flick the Switches Down: For each “lighting” circuit breaker, gently flick it down (off position). Hold it down for approximately 5 seconds. This action effectively cuts power to the Wondrwall light switch.

      • Restore Power: After the 5-second interval, flick the circuit breaker switches back up (on position). This restores power to the switches.

      • No Data Loss: Don’t worry about losing any settings! All your information is safely stored on the device and in the Wondrwall cloud.

      • Normal Reboot: The Wondrwall light switch will now reboot normally. Once it’s up and running, it should operate as usual.

  4. Adding the Device Again as a New Device:

    • If all else fails, consider adding the problematic device as a new one:
      • You can delete the device from the app (unless it’s the primary light switch for your entire home).
      • If the app warns that deleting this device will affect the entire home, contact Wondrwall support first.
      • After deletion, attempt to add the device again following the standard setup process.
