How do I connect my inverter to the app?

To connect the inverter to the app you will first need to establish a connection to the internet using a device called a data logger. Please see the below advice on how to connect this device to the internet.

Data Logger

The Wondrwall System has multiple types of data loggers that are used to connect the inverter to the internet and upload the different data metrics to our monitoring system/your app.

These different types of data loggers have different ways of connecting to the internet.

The following types of data loggers are currently available with the Wondrwall system:

Shine LAN Box (Shine Link)

There is no need for you to touch the Wondrwall Hybrid Inverter itself, but to utilise the intelligent features of Wondrwall Energy home energy management system, you will need to pair the inverter to the Wondrwall system using the WiFi monitoring kit (Shine Lan Box) seen below.

To communicate with Wondrwall, the Shine Lan Box needs to be directly connected to your Wi-Fi router using the data cable (ethernet/Rj45) provided.

Shine LAN Box LED Status

The Shine LAN box has different LED's referring to different states of the device. Please refer to the below table for the status of the LED's during working condition.

Shine LAN Box LED Lights Status of Working Condition
Power light The light being ON means the power is ON
Web light Flashing means the device is connected to the router, LED ON refers to when the device is connected to the internet
Device light The frequency of flashing refers to how many inverters are connected to the Shine LAN Box
Paired light This is flashing when in pairing mode and off when the inverter is paired

Shine RF Stick

The Shine LAN box needs to be wirelessly connected to a device called an RF Stick (seen below) which will be directly inserted into your inverter.

Growatt RF STICK

Please refer to the below table for the status of the LED's during working condition.

Shine RF Stick LED Status Status of the Shine RF Stick
Always ON The Shine RF Stick is initialising
Always OFF Loose connection of the RF tick to the inverter
Flashing quickly (every 0.2 seconds) RF Stick is connecting to the inverter
Flashing slowly (every 1 second) Connection successful

Pairing the Shine LAN box and Shine RF Stick

After installation, the Shine LAN box and Shine RF stick should be automatically paired by default. If the two devices have disconnected indicated by the Device light on the Shine LAN Box being turned OFF, the two will need to be paired following the steps below.

1. Short press the pairing button on the Shine RF stick, the LED will change to flashing blue quickly.

2. Within 2 minutes short press the pairing button located on the back of the Shine LAN Box, the Paired light on the Shine LAN Box will be flashing indicating it is in pairing mode.

3. After the successful configuration of the Shine LAN Box with the Shine RF Stick the Device light will be flashing slowly. If the LED is OFF please refer to the steps below for resetting the devices.

Resetting the Shine LAN Box and Shine RF Stick

Press and hold the Shine LAN Box / RF Stick pairing button for 6 seconds until all 4 LED lights are ON, then release the button.

After resetting the Shine Lan Box and RF Stick, the two will need to be repaired following the steps above.

Shine Wi-Fi-S/X

The Shine Wi-Fi-S/X is a wireless device that needs to be configured to the internet using an external app. Please download the 'Shine-app' to start this process. The steps to configure the data logger to the internet can be seen below:
