How Do I connect My EV Charger to the Internet?

This article walks through configuring the Wondrwall Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger whilst it is offline and connecting it to the internet.

There may be instances where you need to enter or update the WiFi credentials on your Wondrwall EV charger, such as when you change your WiFi password or switch to a new network. This guide provides a step-by-step process to help you update your WiFi credentials on your EV charger.

Steps

  1. Ensure the EV charger has power: If the device does not have power, check the isolator.

  2. Connect to the charger’s hotspot: Look for the charger’s hotspot name “EVSE-XXXXXXXX” in your Wi-Fi settings and connect to this SSID. Your phone may indicate that the network has no internet connection, but continue regardless.

  3. Navigate to the EVSE login page: Open your web browser on your phone and type in the following IP address into the address bar: 192.168.4.1.

  4. Enter the default password: When prompted by the EVSE login page, please enter the default password 12345678. We recommend changing this to something more secure.

  5. Access the EVSE configuration page: The EVSE configuration page will now appear. If you are met with an error, try rebooting the device with the isolator and try again.

  6. Update your Wi-Fi name and password: In the user options section, you can enter your Wi-Fi name and password. Remember to click “Save” when your details have been entered.

  7. Change the operation settings (optional): You can change the operation settings here too, limiting the EV charger to work only when the RFID card is scanned, or make it app controllable or plug and play.

  8. Change the login password (optional): In the advanced options, you can change the login password as well as other parameters. We do not recommend you change these if you are unsure.

  9. Save and restart the charger: When you have updated all the settings you require, save them. Now select the option to “Restart” the charger and wait for it to boot up again.

  10. Check the Wi-Fi LED indicator: If the configuration is successful, the charger Wi-Fi LED indicator will be flashing blue.
