If there aren't any lights displaying on the battery or they are a colour that is not regular please refer to the below advice.
Light Status
Sometimes the battery LED indicators may either be not displayed or are a colour that is not regular. The normal status of the LED indicators can be seen below in Fig1.
Fig 1:
Under normal working conditions there should be 5 LED indicators. 4 segment sections representing the charge status of the battery (each segment refers to 25% charge of the battery).
If the segment is not highlighted in green then that quarter of the battery is not fully charged and in turn when a segment is highlighted green then this represents when that quarter of the battery is fully charged.
The fifth LED indicator is located in the middle of these four segments and is the Leaf Indicator of the battery. The colour of this is green under normal working conditions, however, if this is red for example this indicates a fault to do with the system.
LED Indicator Fault
If there is a fault to do with the system due to an abnormal LED indicator status either with them being off altogether or the Leaf Indicator being abnormal. Please see the below advice.
LEDs off:
If the battery LED indicators are off, this is usually indicative of a battery that has been turned off. To return the battery to being on and functioning correctly see the below steps.
1. Locate the power button for the battery on the side of the unit as seen in Fig 2.
Fig 2:
2. Turn ON the battery:
Use the battery on/off switch located on the side of the unit to turn on the battery.
To do this, Press the power on/off button for 2 seconds and 5 x LED lights will flicker 3 times.
Sometimes the battery light status may be directly linked to the inverter. An inverter reset is a quick way to return the battery light status to normal.
Inverter Reset
Try performing an inverter reset using the following steps (in the specified order):
Turn Off the Inverter:
1. Turn Off the Battery:
Use the battery on/off switch located on the side of the unit, to turn off the battery.
To do this, Press the power on/off button for 2 seconds, and 5 x LED lights will flicker 3 times. See Fig 2 for reference points:
2. Turn Off the DC Isolator for the Solar PV:
Locate the DC isolator switch for the solar PV system and turn it off. See Fig 3 this is usually a rotary switch located near to your inverter and will be labelled D.C. Isolator.
Fig 3:
3. Turn Off the AC Isolator for the Inverter:
Locate the AC isolator switch for the inverter and turn it off. See Fig 3 this is usually a rotary switch located near to your inverter and will be labelled A.C. Isolator.
Turn On the Inverter
To turn the inverter back on, follow the previous steps in the reverse order stated below:
1. Turn On the AC Isolator for the Inverter:
Locate the AC isolator switch for the inverter and turn it on. See Fig 3.
2. Turn On the DC Isolator for the Solar PV:
Locate the DC isolator switch for the solar PV system and turn it on. See Fig 3.
3. Turn On the Battery:
Use the battery on/off switch located on the side of the unit to turn on the battery. To do this, Press the power on/off button for 2 seconds and 5 x LED lights will flicker 3 times.
See Fig 2 for reference points.
Leaf Indicator Abnormal Colour
If the Leaf Indicator is showing a colour different to green or no lights please follow the steps above for an inverter reset. If the Leaf Indicator is still displaying abnormally please contact our technical support team to asses the issue further.
WARNING: Remember to follow safety precautions while handling electrical components. If you encounter any issues beyond these steps, don’t hesitate to seek professional assistance from our technical support team.
